Academic Achievement
ESTEEM’s objectives and purposes are to combat illiteracy and low literacy by empowering students with the skills and confidence needed to become successful adults. ESTEEM will help reduce the high illiteracy rate in the population of Black and Brown youth, along with any other students who need our assistance.
Education-Tutoring Goals:
Learner-Centered: To increase student engagement in the learning process, fostering academic improvement and greater understanding in tutored class.
Integrity Based: To ensure delivery of services that uphold high academic standards, empowering students to become responsible, active, and interdependent learners who are able to adapt to different learning environments.
Service-Oriented: ESTEEM is open to all youth from 1st grade through 12th grade; with a special focus on, Black and Brown youth from low-income households, students from single-parent homes, and youth with absentee fathers.
Supportive: To provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment that provides an environment that encourages students to excel, and provides the opportunity for youth to grow socially, and emotionally.
